Youth

Caisse Desjardins de Limoilou has a long tradition of involvement with local youth.

Over the past few years, the caisse has created various innovative projects to help teach its younger members about finances and support their personal or professional projects. For example, the caisse youth scholarship program that gives members ages 12 to 30 a financial boost to help them reach their goals.

Available Monday to Friday
A 90-minute tour that includes 2 workshops of 45 minutes each

  • Departure from the school at around 8:15 a.m.
  • Departure from the caisse at around 9:45 a.m.
  • Transportation provided by the caisse

First workshop
Tour of the caisse

  • Tour of the Board of Directors room
    • Option to meet caisse personnel or managers
    • Money handling
  • Viewing of the safe
  • Snacks and arts and crafts

Second workshop
Tour of the Espace membre (member space)

  • Introductory activity
  • Learning about payment methods
  • Optional activities

The preparatory educational material will be available for consultation at the school's administrative office.

Our scholarship program illustrates the caisse's commitment to the community and to supporting education and academic perseverance. More than ever, the caisse confirms its cooperative commitment by supporting our youth.

2022 scholarships – Call for applications from March 1 to March 31

The caisse's call for applications coincides with the Desjardins Foundation's application period; you can fill out a single form and have access to several Desjardins scholarships.

Desjardins Foundation scholarships

Are you a vocational school, CEGEP or university student who could use a financial boost? The Desjardins Foundation is once again offering scholarships in 2022 to support post-secondary students.

Caisse scholarships

Apply for the chance to win 1 of 53 scholarships, totalling $57,500, in the following categories:

  • Academic perseverance
  • Community involvement
  • Random draw

You only have to answer the mandatory questions to be eligible for scholarships in the Random draw category.

Applications for merit scholarships are selected based on:

  • Financial need
  • Academic perseverance
  • Community involvement (cooperative, sporting, community, cultural, student, business activities, etc.)

Financial education program

Are you between 16 and 25? Want to take charge of your finances and make sound decisions as a consumer, student or worker?

Personal Finance: I'm in Charge is just what you're looking for.

You'll learn more about things that matter to you, such as:

  • consumer choices
  • cellphones
  • education and work
  • budgets
  • financial services

Thanks to the collaboration of your caisse, free 2-hour group workshops are offered by community partners or educational institutions of the region.

We take a dynamic approach that gets you involved. You'll interact through a variety of hands-on activities and exercises.

Prizes for each students selected

Caisse Desjardins de Limoilou is proud to encourage kids to stay in school, and we’re pleased to be able to count on you throughout their education. That’s why we’re asking you to select one student per class who has particularly stood out by their willingness, actions and attitude toward succeeding in school.

Selection criteria

The child must have shown remarkable perseverance throughout the school year, either in the face of a difficult situation or event, or in general.

Prizes

  • $25 for each student selected.
  • $100 for the winning school. If the student is a member of Caisse Desjardins de Limoilou, the school will receive $200.

Awarding of the prizes

The caisse will submit the names of the winners to their schools’ administrators before the week of June 3, 2019. We suggest that the prizes be awarded the week of June 10, 2019, during your end-of-year activities.
