Prevention and wellness
Family Focus
Family Focus provides support to employees who want to start or grow their family, regardless of sex, sexual orientation or relationship status.
Coverage includes:
- Fertility drugs and treatment
- Prenatal screening tests
- Lab tests
Additional services and support are also available, depending on the group insurance plan. For example:
- Adoption or surrogacy expenses
- Marriage, family and fertility counselling
- Prenatal classes
- Midwifery and doula services
Health is Cool 360° platform
Our Health is Cool 360° platform helps plan members navigate the Canadian healthcare system, find reliable information and get answers to their questions—online or by phone.
The platform's interactive approach makes it easier for employees to manage their health. They're less likely to miss work, which is better for them and for you.
With Health is Cool 360°, you can:
- Get a snapshot of your workforce's health, thanks to the Health Evaluation tool
- See where to focus your health promotion efforts
- Help employees manage stress, depression and other health problems that can lead to absences
Health is Cool 360° also includes the Health PACT service, which offers prevention, assistance and telephone counselling services. It's designed to:
- Help employees stay at work through proactive intervention
- Identify serious issues and the sources of absenteeism and higher group insurance plan costs
Manager assistance program (MAP)
This program provides managers with access to specialized professionals. It also offers support to other employees who may need it.
Specialized help for managers
- Up to 12 hours of counselling in person, by phone or online for personal, relationship or family problems, issues with addiction or problems at work
- Legal advice on labour and commercial law matters
- Tax information for businesses
- Help with management challenges
- Intervention in a crisis situation
Basic referral service for employees
It all starts with a referral by the manager. Employees can each receive up to 4 hours of counselling by phone or online for:
- Relationship issues
- Stress, fatigue or overwork
- Drug or alcohol abuse
Employee assistance program (EAP)
This program gives your employees the tools they need to resolve personal problems before they interfere with work.
When you choose our employee assistance program, you can integrate it with our prevention and disability management processes.
Comprehensive support
- Up to 12 hours of counselling in person, by phone or online for personal, relationship or family problems, issues with addiction or problems at work
- Phone assistance for legal or financial problems, eldercare and childcare support
- 3 hours of assistance for parents to help children plan and prepare for school
Virtual care
Virtual healthcare gives plan members and their dependants 24/7 access to healthcare professionals. No need to make an appointment or go to the doctor's office.
Plan members won't have to spend hours in the emergency room for a skin condition, a child's fever or a prescription renewal. Everything can be done virtually from a smartphone, tablet or computer.
We take care of all the logistics for you. This includes onboarding, billing and employee arrivals and departures.
Healthy Weight program
We're the first Canadian insurer to offer a program aimed at helping employees reach and maintain a healthy weight.
The program uses a unique approach that addresses the root cause, tackling several factors at once.

This is a 24/7 telephone assistance service employees can turn to for advice on various health matters.

- Local healthcare resources
This service is included with our extended healthcare benefit
Convalescence assistance
This service helps your employees recover quickly from an illness or surgical procedure.
It gives your employees information about local resources. For example:
- Home nursing care
- Meals on wheels
- Housekeeping
- Private convalescent centres
Employees can call 24/7. Our experienced team will evaluate their situation, put them in touch with the doctors, private healthcare providers or healthcare services they need, and give them other support as needed.
This service is included with our home care coverage.
