The caisse's board of directors wants to work towards creating a greener community and improving its quality of life. That's why we've commissioned Agiro, an environmental organization, to create a volunteer-based tree-planting and rainwater harvesting program.
The program was tasked with determining potential projects in the caisse's territory, assessing the needs of the various stakeholders and identifying any possible issues or constraints. We then selected sites at the following locations: Harfang-des-Neiges school in Stoneham, Montagnac school in Lac-Beauport, Des Sentiers school in Charlesbourg, Le Sommet school and the Maison des jeunes La Marginale.
Over the next 4 years, we'll be working hard to reach the program's goals: improve the quality of our green spaces for young people and citizens, create a greener community and improve rainwater management, raise awareness among young people about environmental issues and involve our members, employees and citizens of all ages in bringing these projects to life.
All of this will be made possible by an investment of $619,054 from our Community Development Fund.
