The pace of economic growth generally accelerated in 2017. A 3.5% rise in global real GDP is estimated for the year compared to 3.1% in 2016. According to the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), none of the world’s biggest economies (45 countries) will have experienced an annual contraction this year, the first time since 2007.
