Canada: Labour Market Starts 2023 with a Bang

Net total Canadian employment jumped by 150k in January 2023 to begin the year with a bang. It’s just one month of data, but the obviously much better-than-anticipated labour market print does not point to the easing economic trajectory normally needed to bring inflation to heel.
