We're here for you during the wildfires

June 9, 2023

Numerous wildfires are currently burning in several regions of Quebec and across Canada. Our hearts go out to the people and communities affected by this crisis. We encourage you to be careful and follow all recommendations issued by Public Safety Canada and your municipality.

Desjardins has issued its own recommendations and measures to help members and clients directly affected by the fires.

  • Wildfires: What you need to know
  • Additional living expenses (such as hotels or meals) and damage claims: may be available depending on your insurance policy. Contact your insurer to find out.
  • Psychological assistance: available to credit insurance, critical illness insurance and long-term care insurance clients.
  • Emergency access to prescription medications: Desjardins is allowing pharmacists to accept early refills of medications left behind due to evacuation.
  • If you need quick access to your money or are having trouble paying bills, you may be eligible for certain solutions:
    • Greater flexibility to access your savings;1
    • Payment deferrals for personal loans, mortgages, and car, home and individual insurance;1
    • Options for members to get credit or financing quickly.2
  • Support for businesses: easing of financing conditions, principal payment deferral or temporary loan for renovations and repairs for affected businesses.

Helping you is our top priority. Contact your caisse or your Desjardins Businesss center for personalized assistance during these exceptional circumstances.
