Montreal, November 24, 2021 – Last night, 32 students received $69,500 in generous support from Desjardins business partners at an online scholarship award ceremony. The event celebrated the scholarship winners and their accomplishments, and acknowledged the steadfast commitment of the partners who have teamed up with Desjardins to support youth and recognize academic success.
"Despite the many challenges these young people have faced in the last year, they've shown remarkable resilience, perseverance and commitment to academic success. The Foundation is honoured to work with Desjardins business partners to support even more of tomorrow's leaders," said Desjardins Foundation Manager Nancy Lee.
In 2021, 13 internal and external business partners took advantage of the Desjardins Foundation's turnkey offer to use their own criteria to select scholarship winners from among the 33,000 applications received. Every year, Desjardins Group and its partners help thousands of students financially so they can pursue their dreams.
Desjardins would like to thank its partners and the initiatives that awarded student scholarships: Sagen (a mortgage insurance provider), Larsen & Toubro Infotech Canada (LTI), Synergie Hunt international, KPMG's Black Professionals Network in Quebec, Humask, GoSecure, KPMG, Nationwide Appraisal, ServiceNow, cooperative model development scholarships, cybersecurity scholarships, Desjardins Women scholarships, and the anonymous donor of a memorial endowment. Their contributions make a real difference in helping young people reach their full potential and achieve their goals.
A simple application process
Thousands of scholarships are awarded each year to students at every level and in every field of study. Students fill out a single application that's automatically forwarded to different Desjardins scholarship programs, including those offered by the Desjardins Foundation, caisses and partners who are committed to helping the next generation.
Call for applications
From March 1 to 31 each year, students across Quebec and Ontario can apply for a Desjardins scholarship. They can create a profile any time on desjardins.com/scholarships External link. This link will open in a new window., and Desjardins will notify them when they start accepting applications.
