FAQ
Yes. By law, you need at least $1 million in civil liability insurance. Unlike for auto insurance, the SAAQ doesn't cover injuries if you have an accident with your off-road vehicle, unless an automobile is involved.
Here are some tips to save on your snowmobile insurance:
- Compare quotes for different models when shopping for a snowmobile. Vehicles that are newer or have larger engines typically cost more to insure.
- Consider skipping coverages that protect your snowmobile. For example, if your snowmobile is old and has lost much of its value, you might not need coverage that protects it against damage.
- Insure other vehicles with us to qualify for our multi-vehicle discount.
1 - Choose a higher deductible if you're able to pay more out of pocket in the event of a claim.
If your snowmobile was damaged, stolen or involved in an accident, you can file a claim online, in the Desjardins Insurance Home-Auto app or by phone. We're here to help 24/7.
