FAQ

Do I need travel insurance for a short trip?

It’s a good idea to be covered whenever you leave your home province, even for a day. If you have a medical emergency, you may have a large bill to pay. For example, a hospital stay in the US can cost over $5,000.

Do I need travel insurance if I’m covered by my provincial health plan?

It’s a good idea to have our emergency healthcare coverage to protect yourself against unexpected medical expenses. Your provincial health plan only covers a small part of the costs if you have a sudden illness or accident during your trip.
