Desjardins Foundation Prizes: Inspiring projects to help students enjoy school

This year, a total of $1.7 million was put towards 626 initiatives that helped more than 115,500 students in Quebec, Ontario, Alberta and New Brunswick. Why did we do it? To motivate students!

Motivation is key to young people's education. Students who enjoy going to school and learning are happier, get better grades and are more likely to stay in school. We help young people enjoy themselves and succeed by giving them positive experiences at school.

Young people want to express themselves and we need to give them the means to do so. They need to discover what they're passionate about. That's what we hope to achieve with the Desjardins Foundation Prizes. Teacher involvement is often a must because they play such key roles in young people's lives. In addition, they help students discover new passions and develop new interests.
