FAQ – AccèsD – Logging in to AccèsD

When you register for AccèsD, you are assigned a temporary password, which you must change the first time you use the system and within a 5-day period.

Password requirements

• 8 to 128 characters, and can contain one or more uppercase or lowercase letters, numbers or special characters
• Not a word that's easy to guess
• Different from your last 6 passwords
• Can be made up of multiple words with or without spaces

Use the advice that appears under the New password field to create a more secure password.

Your password can be used to log in from a computer, tablet or smartphone. It cannot be used to log in by phone.

Avoid:

• Passwords that are easy to guess or figure out when typed in, such as 123abc or 9999a
• Passwords identical to your username, since it’s the first thing fraudsters try
• A single password for all your accounts, since fraudsters can use it to access the other websites or systems you use

Your password is different from your Desjardins Access Card PIN (personal identification number), which has 5 characters and is used only for ATM or direct payment transactions.

If you use AccèsD Telephone

If you already have an AccèsD Telephone password, you can continue using it.

To get an AccèsD Telephone password or to change an existing one, call 514-CAISSES (514-224-7737) or 1-800-CAISSES (1-800-224-7737).

On AccèsD

1. Log in to AccèsD from a web browser or your Desjardins mobile services app.
2. Confirm your identity via the security code sent by text, push notification or phone call, and select Continue.
3. Select Security, then Password.
4. Make the change.

Change your password with our virtual assistant 24/7 by stating the reason for your call.^[ 1 ] note. You can also talk to an advisor from Monday to Sunday, 6 AM to midnight.

You can't disable 2-step verification, but you can choose how often you'd like us to ask you to provide a security code on your devices.

You can see or change your security settings in the Security section, located in the right-hand menu of AccèsD and AccèsD Affaires.

If you log in to AccèsD or AccèsD Affaires from a computer you don't normally use, or if cookies aren’t saved by your web browser, we’ll ask you 1 of the 3 security questions you selected when configuring your security settings.

Since you're the only one to know the answer to your security question, unauthorized attempts to log in will be prevented.

No. The security questions you select when configuring your security settings to use AccèsD or AccèsD Affaires will be used only to confirm your identity when you log in to AccèsD or AccèsD Affaires from a computer the system doesn’t recognize or when reactivating your password.

Desjardins will only ask your security questions when you're logging in to the genuine AccèsD site or AccèsD Affaires site and never by email, phone, mail, fax or any other way.

Questions are developed to minimize the chances of forgetting the answers because they all refer to personal events that took place at a specific time in your life. A sophisticated recognition mechanism is implemented to minimize the number of common errors that can happen when you enter your answer. For example, the system would consider "Saint-Paul," "St-Paul" and "St. Paul" as equivalent answers.

However, if you answer a question incorrectly 3 times in a row, your username will be suspended as a precaution. You will then have to contact us to reactivate your access.

Yes, it could happen if, for example, you delete your cookies, install a new operating system or if you move and switch to a new Internet service provider. We might want you to confirm your identity even if you're logging in from your personal computer.

When you sign up for this service, a cookie that corresponds to a unique and encrypted number is used to identify the computer used. Afterwards, whenever you try to log in to AccèsD or AccèsD Affaires, your web browser will use this file and other elements to ensure that this is your computer. The cookie installed on your computer does not contain any personal data and can only be recognized by the AccèsD system or AccèsD Affaires system.

Yes, you can use several computers. The system might ask you a personal question when you're using a computer that it doesn’t recognize, if the browser doesn't save the cookies or if they're deleted.

Yes. Login habits are related to the AccèsD card number or AccèsD Affaires user code rather than the computer. Therefore, your personal computer could be your usual login source and be a non-usual login source for a friend using your computer for the first time. In such case, we might ask your friend one of their personal questions in order to verify their identity.

No. You always need your card number or user code and password to log in to AccèsD or AccèsD Affaires. Someone else using one of your usual computers doesn't jeopardize the security of your data in any way.

However, if you believe someone has discovered your AccèsD or AccèsD Affaires password, immediately log in to AccèsD and change it in the Security section in the right-hand menu on AccèsD or AccèsD Affaires.
